An unidentified group of persons Wednesday evening attacked a well known Tamil journalist J.Sri Ranga of Sakthi Television travelling in a vehicle with his police escort in Hatton, a town in Nuwara Eliya district, according to police media spokesman I.M.Karunaratne, Senior Superintendent of Police.
Police in Jaffna recovered the body of a fisherman with assault injuries Wednesday in Kozhumpuththu’rai in Jaffna and handed it over to Jaffna Teaching Hospital mortuary, sources in Jaffna said.
