The Virginia Tech Hokies beat the Quinnipiac Bobcats tonight 81-61 before a thunderous crowd at the Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Hokies were led by guard Malcolm Delaney who had 25 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Quinnipiac forward Justin Rutty had 22 points and seven rebounds in the opening round loss for the Bobcats.
Virginia Tech jumped out to a huge halftime lead of 39-27 and never looked back. The Hokies outscored the Bobcats 42-34 in the second half leading them to victory
